Over 70 million people across the globe are diagnosed with an eating disorder, yet, this is most certainly a very low underestimate. Why is this? There is a pervasive stereotype of who struggles with disordered eating that prevents people from getting the support they need. There is also a significant lack of training for clinicians in a comprehensive model of eating disorder treatment where social justice and equity are central to the conversation.
We need more providers equipped to support ALL bodies facing barriers to nourishment and body shame. 90% of people with eating disorders don't end up getting the care they deserve. Come join us as we provide an overview of our inclusive eating disorder framework: The Wheel of Integration®. You'll learn what to do to provide intersectional care to your clients and help them live an embodied life.
